How we pick

Every recommendation traces back to a test you can watch start to finish.
Before you buy
Why a battery instead of a gas generator?
A power station runs silently indoors, with no exhaust and no fuel to store. A gas generator delivers more power for longer, but it must run outdoors, well away from windows and doors, because its exhaust contains carbon monoxide. Many households use a battery for essentials and keep a generator for big loads.
Will it really run my refrigerator?
Most fridges draw modest power while running but spike briefly when the compressor starts. The calculator includes that startup surge, so every match can handle it. For exact numbers, check the label inside your fridge.
Do I need an electrician?
Not for plugging appliances straight into the unit. Powering your home’s circuits requires a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician. Never connect any power source to a wall outlet to back-feed your house.
Why show both Amazon and the brand’s own store?
Prices, bundles and return policies differ, and each changes often. We show both so you can pick the better deal on the day you buy.
